Peter Jennings

At times the grief
Is extra rough
Because they leave too soon ...

And then our pain
Turns fierce and tough,
Our mind from sane to loon.

For hark! A note,
Just yesterday,
Is now a silent song.

Oh, that their pain
Be cast away,
And live their honor long.

In memory of newscaster Peter Jennings.

Even though, at 13 years of age, Matti lived a very full life, that life ended way too soon.  Here are three of the links regarding Mattie from the MDA's website:

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

"Although the world is full of suffering, it it also full of the overcoming of it."

By Helen Keller (1880-1968)

Please visit the Helen Keller Foundation web page at www.helenkellerfoundation.org.

For his courage in producing a challenging movie, and for remaining loyal to both his family, and the Jewish people.

You can go to the official movie website
by clicking the picture below.

BACK TO LIST

Alison Krauss

For earning two Grammy nominations in 2004, one for each of two songs from the movie "Cold Mountain."

Thank you, Alison, for maintaining your values.

BACK TO LIST

President George Bush, Sr.

For being the only public figure to respect President Clinton's statement regarding a President's right to privacy.

You can view a portion of that statement here.

If memory serves, it was the year 1996, during President Clinton's campaign for re-election, that PBS interviewed President Bush, Sr., asking about the then current administration's personal life. President Bush refused to comment.

After being asked a second time, this genteel statesman refused yet again.

BACK TO LIST

New Texas Senator for District 2

Thank you to Mr. Todd Gallaher, Wendy, Stephanie,
Linda and Amy for all of your efforts.

For her latest CD, demonstrating, finally, that she is one of the greatest songwriters in American history - which list, includes, of course, our Janet McBride, and Art Greenhaw.

Believe "To Daddy" should be required listening for all couples on their wedding day.

From Emmy Lou On Line - 12/27/2003:

* * R.I.P. * * Condolonces to Dolly Parton and her family. Dolly's mother, Avie Lee Parton, passed away on December 5, 2003. A detailed obituary is at voiceofanangel.net.
