Early Press Release From Chelsea's Mom…11/8/2004 Press Release by: Ms. Shiloh Beck, November, 2004
Chelsea Beck is an 11 year old performer from Laverne,
OK. She just started singing this year. She has loved to sing
ever since she was very young, but it wasn't until she met Janet McBride that
Chelsea found her love for country music and yodeling. Chelsea's first song was "Cowboy's Sweetheart."
We found Janet over the internet and went for our first yodeling lesson in
Mesquite, TX and Chelsea has been yodeling night and day since we left
Janet's. Chelsea always loves Janet's Storytime of Patsy Montana
and LeAnn Rimes. One of her favorite yodelers is of course, Patsy
Montana, but most of all Janet! Chelsea has picked up every track that Janet has out and
loves to listen to her beautiful yodel. It's not long before Chelsea has
another song down. Janet encouraged Chelsea to pick up a guitar so that she
could accompany herself anywhere she went. Since then Chelsea has been
playing the guitar right at 4 months and entered a talent search in Oklahoma
City [please see below]. At that talent search she got up, played her guitar and
yodeled "Chime Bells," and won Grand Champion over 54 acts, ages
5-18. The first thing Chelsea said was, "I have to call Janet and John
and tell them what just happened! ! " Chelsea recently became a member of the Academy of
Western Artists, where she has met so many wonderful people! Chelsea's dream is to keep the "Cowboy Heritage" alive
with her singing, picking and yodeling. -o- Chelsea's Grand Champion Title is "Kids on First/American
Kids Fall Classic Grand Champion." She has also won overall at the "Cowchip Festival Talent
Show," along with a recent overall win at the "Harper County 4-H Share the Fun
Talent Show," and will get to go on to Districts on December 4th, 2004. Email: chelseab@ptsi.net |
