Kacey Just Keeps Rising!

Our Kacey Musgraves keeps right on "making the rounds" in the world at large.

Above is a picture she posted on Twitter this November, without listing the name of the royal family members in the photo snap. Below is a scan the webmaster did from her new CD, "Pageant Material," revealing the more avant-garde approach she uses in her art work. Both can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Kacey's album was just ranked #27 in the top albums of 2015 by Paste Magazine, which you can see by clicking on this link.

Kacey Pairs With
Willie Nelson!

Our Kacey Musgraves joins famed Willie Nelson for three venues, two of which are pictured here (in photos which can be enlarged by clicking them). The third was his Farm Aid concert for 2015.

Above you see a scene from their video "Are You Sure?" You can watch them perform it on YouTube by clicking here. The song is sweet in tone, and has a wonderful message.

Below is a poster announcing their joint appearance for New Year's Eve 2016. We will post details as soon as we get them. Congratulations Kacey for this and so many honors that just keep happening right along!

 

Kacey's Birthday!

August 21 was Kacey's birthday, and she kept pretty mum about any details. She did, however, post a video link on Twitter with these words: "Best. Video. Ever." She was referring to one created by some Chinese young people in honor of her day. You can see it by clicking here. Best wishes to you, Kacey, and may this next year be the best ever!

 

Kacey's Second
Album Release!

June 23, 2015 was the release day of Kacey's new album "Pageant Material." In this section are two related photos, one a promo for her appearance on ABC's "Good Morning America," and the second her cover display for Redbook Magazine. Both can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Three Times!

On June 16, 2015, the Fox News website featured Kacey in a "beauty and grit" graphic, which you can see online by clicking here. As you will see a little further below, the "grit" photo is from her video "Biscuits." Of course, what some people call "gritty" others might call "beautiful ... with a twist!"

Kacey recently announced her appearance on Seth Meyers' program with this Tweet:

She performed "Family is Family," and you can see it by clicking here.

What took some of us by surprise, though, was her appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon the previous night! You can watch her sing her latest single "Biscuits" on that show by clicking this link.

Fader Magazine published a huge article on our Kacey June of 2015, and featured her on the cover. They told her story in great detail, and she even referred to her experience with the Buckaroos in the interview. At the time of this post, a Country Music radio executive made the news with his recommendation to take female Country singers off the air! The Fox News article on that incident ends with a screen grab of Kacey's related tweet, which you can see below.

It was truly awesome to meet Kacey Musgraves, with Devon Dawson, the other night! Kacey and I both grew up singing at the Cowtown Opry in Fort Worth (although separate time periods), which has been run by Devon and Janet McBride for years.

Kacey is a phenomenal and fresh songwriter, and a current country superstar, but honors her roots too... She closed her show with Happy Trails.

Kacey was in town to appear this weekend at Billy Bob's Texas (which, at the time of this writing, is already sold out!), and she took the time to post this photo and mention our Janet today on Facebook. Here are her words:

One Sunday every month for as long as I can remember, my sister and I came in our red bandanas and sang on these steps with a kid's western singing group called The Buckaroos.

We were encouraged to yodel, learn instruments, and all the old Country & Western Swing standards and would stroll the Stockyards singing for people. Always end with "Happy Trails".

I think this is where my love for it all started right here. It was cool seeing it again. Makes me wanna cry a little.

If you live in the area, look up a woman named Janet McBride or look around on Sundays for them singing..this is an invaluable setting for children. It's still around! #CowtownOpry #FtWorth

Below is a picture of Kacey with her "date" ... Grandpa! This webmaster had the privilege of meeting Grandpa when Kacey sang at the Rodeo City Music Hall as a guest of Janet's in 2004. He was warm, kind, and a very good listener.
