Hello friends,

It's with much sadness that I send news to you today about the passing of Frances Walsh, a special lady and dear friend to many of us in the music business. Many of you met Frances when you first embarked upon a music career or sang your first song on stage. Frances loved music and people with all her heart.

She passed away late this morning in a Carrollton Hospital. Please keep Mike in your prayers.

Funeral arrangements are pending and I will send further information when there is more to share.

As many of you know, Frances was a former board member for Fort Worth Songwriters Association. I will be putting together an article for submission to the association newsletter about her.

Frances did much to encourage local talent for many, many years by providing a stage to be heard on, recognition through her award shows, as well as has her kind and meaningful words of encouragement.

She will be missed by many.

take care,

Connie Smith

To all F.O.P.M (Family, Friends and Fans of Patsy Montana),

Our dear Frances Walsh has passed away and we share our sadness with her wonderful husband and best friend, Michael Walsh.

Frances and Mike have dedicated their lives to supporting young artists. They have tirelessly given their unconditional love to more young people than we will ever know.

The Walshes were dear friends of Patsy's and volunteered to help start the Patsy Montana National Yodeling Championship and have helped mold this very special event, into what it is today.

We cannot express the gratitude owed to Frances and Mike; we can only say thank you for your devotion.

We would like to dedicate this, the 9th Annual Patsy Montana National Yodeling Championship, to Frances Walsh.

Jane and Larry Frost
Janet McBride and John Ingram
