ANNOUNCEMENTSEddy Arnold Dies
Below are sentiments Janet offered when learning of the passing of Eddy Arnold this morning, May 8, 2008. I never personally met him but I have a note here (that I might be able to put my hands on) from him. John called his office one day to find out the address for mailing my 'Yodeling Tribute' recording way back when it was brand new in 1981. Eddy Arnold answered the phone. I am sure you can imagine the shock that was to John. The note I have was in response to my record. In the tribute I mention his name. Anyway, he was a 'giant' in the business and even though his only actual 'yodeling' recording was Cattle Call, he was one of my 'heroes'. He was a great role model for many many generations of country and western entertainers over the years and then he became a 'mega star' when he had his own very successful NETWORK 'TV' show and was tops on the pop charts. He invested his money in the town of Brentwood, Tennessee and no doubt became a millionaire from his investments. No one bigger in Country Music in my book. Janet
